What is an IATA code?
An IATA code is an identifier assigned by the International Air Transport Association. Airports get a three-letter code (CDG for Paris-Charles de Gaulle, JFK for New York), airlines a two-character code (AF for Air France), and cities served by several airports a common code (LON for London). These are the codes printed on tickets, boarding passes and baggage tags.
IATA code or ICAO code?
ICAO codes are assigned by the International Civil Aviation Organization and used by pilots and air traffic control: four letters for airports (EGLL for London Heathrow), three for airlines (AFR for Air France). Every CodeIATA page shows both.
